Summer Show

the Great Hall in Oundle

The Summer Show of Oundle Horticultural Society is held over two days in July, each year. The aim of the show is to promote interest in and enjoyment of traditional pastimes, in particular, in the growing of plants for food and pleasure, on a non-commercial basis. In addition, skills in flower arranging, cookery, handicrafts and other leisure activities are encouraged.

Whilst there is a degree of competition, the Society encourages entries from all. Many nervous, first-time exhibitors, find that their exhibits are really quite good and not out of place in the show. Judging is done by qualified judges, to national standards and the spectacle seen by the public is always appreciated. Prize monies are awarded for all classes and cups are offered for particular exhibits of merit.

This year the show will be held in the Great Hall of Oundle School, pictured above.

Details of the classes for entry are given in the Summer Show Schedule, which is prepared specially each year. The show is divided into thirteen sections. To see the details of the Summer Show for 2012, click on the sections below.
